Positivity Playlist

Posted on Mar 16th, 2006 by Shelly : Petrepreneur- Pay It Forward Pets Shelly

A few months ago I noticed myself driving along, singing out loud, very unconsciously(and quite off-key) words to a song that I wouldn't begin to utter in daily conversation. I liked the beat to the song, but never really paid attention to the words until that moment. It really struck home with me since I know about NLP and how powerful affirmations are in my life. Here I was, affirming outloud (unconsciously) something I would NEVER want to create in my life! Yet, still my ears and brain were downloading it.

This sent me home to my playlists to cull out anything with a negative message in it. I created a playlist of song that are for the most part positive and upbeat. I offer it too you in case there are any that you want to borrow. It's an eclectic chick mix.... but then, would you expect any less from me? I haven't "K-Tested" them for vibrational frequency and know they don't resonate with the Bach's of the world. Sometimes though, I just enjoy a little light-hearted, get-your-groove-on type of tune. Pick what you like, leave the rest. And please, do share some of your positve fav's too!  The list is always growing. :-)

what da?! great list! but no Drops of Jupiter? c'mon. and Metallica might be at the lower end of vibrational frequency, but they've got this classic song about nonduality… well, sort of.

btw, do check out Train. i think you'll dig 'em. and Hilary Duff?! i think i've heard enough :)

Hey, I didn't say it was for everyone! We all can't be uber-cool like you. (wink)

Thanks for the contributions. I do like Train…..they were on Ellen last week and did a great job. They're in my more hedonistic playlists. hehe The one above is more of a “Perky Pick-Me-Up Playlist”….thus the Hilary Duff.

Hey, awesome idea!  When I was a kid, I used to regulate my moods through music… would have mix-tapes and stuff that I would name with emotions, and whichever I wanted to feel, would just pop it in!  Wow, I almost forgot about that

Thanks for the list, I'll have to checks it out sometime! that's an awesome thing to share :)

Thanks for the list!..and such a long one too. It will be fun going through them since I do not listen to much of western music. I am feeling the music vibe too when I listen to it at work. The good thing about sorting files is that you can listen to music..it can make you go faster and make the illusion that time is speeding up too. I usually listen to dharma music, korean pop or listening to talks by Alan watts or Eckhart Tolle.

There ought to be one or two in there that everyone can dig I've been adding to it for awhile. Country is certainly an acquired taste, Yuri. If you find yourself needing to cry in a beer, you know it's not for you. (wink) I am definitely going to check out the dharma music….. never heard of it.

I love playlists. I have a birthday one, Christmas, Piano, Nature, Dance, Chillin', Wake-Up and Shout(to get the morning blood pumping), Yoga, …..You name it. The music sites make it really easy to customize your music to your mood. Maybe you'll like to revisit that from your childhood ROb?

Regardless, Have Fun!
